MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 25, 2016 <br />improvement hearing is not required. The City Administrator stated that <br />Staff recommends the Council accept the 100 percent petition for water <br />service addition for 2947 Centerville Road, approve the feasibility report <br />from the City Engineer's letter on May 13, 2016, and acknowledge that <br />the property owner has agreed to be assessed 100 percent of the project <br />costs for this improvement as evidenced by his acceptance of the City <br />Engineer's May 13, 2016 letter. He noted that the cost is expected to be <br />around $3,000. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2016-5-95 ACCEPTINGA 100 PERCENT <br />PETITIONFOR A WATER SERVICE ADDITIONA T 2947 <br />CENTERVILLE ROAD, APPROVE THE FEASIBILITYREPORT <br />PROVIDED BY THE CITY ENGINEER ON MAY 13, 2016, AND <br />ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE PROPERTY OWNER HAS AGREED <br />TO BE ASSESSED 100 PERCENT FOR THE PROJECTS COSTS OF <br />THIS IMPROVEMENT. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution adopted. <br />NEW CITY HALL The Public Works Director stated that the concrete work is done at City <br />AND FIRE Hall, so it is time to freshen up the landscaping around the building and at <br />STATION the fire station. He explained that Bill Sanders prepared a plan for the Frie <br />LANDSCAPING Department and the Ramsey County Conservation District put together a <br />plan for City Hall. City Hall's plan includes native plants with a good mix <br />of color from spring through fall, along with being fairly easy to maintain. <br />He noted that mulch is recommended versus the existing rock because it <br />holds in water better and acts as a weed barrier. He stated that the <br />approximate cost for all materials for the City Hall plan is $5,300. He <br />stated that $12,500 was budgeted for landscaping in 2016. The Public <br />Works Director stated that the plan does not include the Little Canada <br />Road side of the City Hall property, but City Staff or the work crew can do <br />that after the front is done. He noted that he would like to also include <br />funds to replace the drip line that is in the existing planting beds since it <br />will likely be ripped up when removing shrubs, and some extra plants for <br />along with the angled wall by the employee entrance. <br />The Public Works Director stated the fire station plan is along the Little <br />Canada Road and Centerville Road sides of the property, including around <br />the digital monument sign.
