MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
MAY 25, 2016
The City Administrator stated that Centerville Road is currently being
reconstructed and the street is being shifted slightly to the west, further
away from the pole, so that may help the problem. McGraw asked how
many trucks actually use the driveway. The City Administrator stated that
it's only around a few trips per week. The City Council agreed to let City
Staff work with the property owner on this, and see if there is still an issue
after the road construction is completed.
CTV QUOTE FOR The City Administrator stated that throughout the year, the City tries to get
VIDEO SERVICES at least one game from every Little Canada sports team videotaped and
FOR SUMMER shown on the local cable channel. He explained that it takes production
BALL GAMES staff a lot of time to film, edit and get the games broadcast in a timely
manner. He explained that in the summer when there are a lot of games
played in a short period of time, along with the other summer events that
are videotaped, staff needs help to ensure that all of the games get
broadcasted. He stated that in the past, CTV staff has been utilized to
assist in recording and editing the summer ball games, and a quote has
been received to do this again. He stated that the quote is for $242.50 for
each game, so with eight to ten games recorded, the maximum cost would
be $2,425. He noted the cost for this would come from the Cable TV fund
which has adequate resources to cover this.
Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2016-5-94 AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH
CTV TO RECORD AND EDIT UP TO 10 GAMES AT A COST NOT
TO EXCEED $242.50 PER GAME FOR THE 2016 SUMMER BALL
SEASON.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution adopted.
INSTALL NEW The City Administrator stated that Jim Olson, property owner of 2947
WATER SERVICE Centerville Road, is in the process of subdividing his property to create a
AT 2947
new lot to build a house. He stated that a new water service from the main
CENTERVILLE
to the property will be needed for the new lot, and given that Centerville
ROAD PER
Road is under construction, now is a good time to install the water service.
PROPERTY
He stated that the City Engineer put together the cost estimate, an
OWNER
agreement to pay for the service through a special assessment, and a
REQUEST
petition for Mr. Olson to sign for this improvement. He noted that since
the petition is signed by 100 percent of the affected property owners, an
5
