MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JULY 27, 2016 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 27th day of July, <br />2016 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little <br />Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor John Keis called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. John Keis <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />City Administrator <br />Assoc. Planner <br />Cable TV Technician <br />City Clerk <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Christian Torkelson <br />Mr. Mike McGraw <br />Mr. Joel Hanson <br />Ms. Jessica Jagoe <br />Mr. Kevin Helander <br />Ms. Heidi Heller <br />The purpose of this evening's meeting is for the City Council to discuss <br />participation in the GreenStep Cities program, review a Social Media <br />Policy draft and discuss updating the city website. <br />DISCUSSION The City Clerk stated that one of the 2016 goals was to discuss <br />ABOUT participating in the GreenStep Cities Program. She explained that staff <br />PARTICIPATION has researched the program, and there would be a lot of on-going staff <br />IN THE time needed to participate. The City Administrator stated that the City has <br />GREENSTEP been actively doing as much as possible in regards to being energy <br />CITIES efficient and "green" for several years. He noted that amount of City Staff <br />PROGRAM needed for documentation makes it difficult to participate in programs like <br />this. <br />Fischer stated that City Staff already has a lot going on, and doesn't feel <br />there is a need to spend time tracking things the City already does in order <br />to participate in this program. He stated that if the City website is <br />updated, it would be nice to explain to the public what sustainable things <br />the City has been doing for several years. <br />
