<br />Little Canada Zoning Ordinance General Provisions <br />903-15 <br />City may permit a chain link security fence with landscape which is designed to <br />create a complete screen within two (2) growing seasons. Required fences or <br />walls shall not exceed eight (8) feet in height or be less than six (6) feet in height. <br />Screening shall not extend within fifteen (15) feet if any street and shall be placed <br />along the property line. In the case of screening along the street, screening shall <br />be fifteen (15) feet from the street with landscaping (trees, shrubs, grass, and other <br />planting) between the screening and the boulevard. <br /> <br />4. Earth mounds, compact evergreen, or dense deciduous hedge five (5) to six (6) <br />feet in height, together with over and under story trees or other plantings may be <br />required in addition to or in lieu of or in addition to other screening. Where <br />required, such landscaping shall consist of the following: <br /> <br />a. Earth mounds not greater than four (4) feet in height and shall not exceed <br />a 1:1.5 slope. <br /> b. Planting materials (at the time of planting): <br /> <br /> Minimum Sizes for: <br /> <br /> Potted/Bare Root* or Balled and Burlapped Shade Trees 2 inches dia. <br /> Half Trees (Flowering Crab, Russian Olive, Hawthorn, etc.) 1 ½ in. dia. <br /> Tall Shrubs and Hedge Material (Evergreen & Deciduous) 3 - 4 feet <br /> Low Shrubs (Evergreen and Deciduous): 18 - 24 inches <br /> <br />*Mode is dependent upon time and planting season, availability, and site <br />conditions [includes both natural (soils, climate, groundwater, etc.) and man- <br />made (irrigation, grading, etc.) influences]. <br /> <br />5. Trees, shrubs, or ground covers shall meet the standards of the American <br />Association of Nurserymen. <br /> <br />6. Regular maintenance of said landscaping, as dictated by the site conditions (soils, <br />climate, groundwater, etc.) shall be required. Failure of said landscaping to <br />consistently comply with and meet the intent of this section shall constitute a <br />violation of this ordinance. The property owner shall be required to maintain all <br />landscaping as a condition of any occupancy, including removal and replacement <br />of dead, diseased, or overgrown plant materials. <br /> <br />a. The owner, tenant, and their respective agent, shall be jointly and severely <br />responsible for the maintenance of all landscaping in a condition <br />presenting a healthy, neat, and orderly appearance free from refuse and <br />debris. On a continuing basis, all dead and/or missing plants must be <br />replaced. <br /> <br />7. No trees or plantings other than sod shall be placed in the public right-of-way, <br />except by the governing jurisdiction. Rain-gardens may be located in the right-of-
