MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 28, 2016
Jason Groholski, owner of Precision Landscape & Tree, acknowledged that
they have had issues complying with the amount of outdoor storage they
are allowed. He explained that his parents were the driving force of "it's
our property and we can do whatever we want," but now he and his brother
have gotten some leadership role in the company. He stated that they have
grown and he wants to find a solution. He stated that they now have a
property in Minneapolis where they are storing a lot of equipment, and
have space in North Branch. He explained that when the Little Canada site
is developed, it will be their hub for maintaining equipment, and will at
times have some product onsite for a day or two. He noted that there will
be outdoor storage space for the tenants in the new building if they need it.
He stated that all of the area shown on the site plan for outdoor storage will
be used for storage since they have to keep wide enough drive aisles and
will use some space for off-street turn around lanes for their trucks.
McGraw asked if a site plan showing exactly where and how big the drive
lanes and actual storage areas are could be part of the PUD because that
would help him agree to the large amount of outdoor storage asked for.
The City Planner stated it could be, and the plan would allow an inspector
to verify square footage amounts. McGraw stated that he wants to see a
specific site plan as part of the agreement that both the City and applicant
agree to so there should be no issues in the fiiture. McGraw asked what
people would see from South Owasso Boulevard. Mr. Plowman stated the
two buildings with an eight foot tall screened fence gate between.
Torkelson asked the applicant to provide photos of what the fence
screening would look like, and he also would like the site to be decent
looking from the trail.
Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION 2016-9-161 -TO CONTINUE THE PUBLIC HEARING
FOR PRECISION LANDSCAPE & TREE UNTIL OCTOBER 12, 2016
IN ORDER FOR THE APPLICANT TO PROVIDE A SITE PLAN
WITH EXACT LOCATIONS AND DIMENSIONS OF THE OUTDOOR
STORA GE AND DRIVE AISLES, AND IMA GES OF ALL TYPES OF
FENCING TO BE USED ON THE PROPERTY.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
Aye (5).
Nays (0).
