MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />OCTOBER 12, 2016 <br />$55,000 was budgeted in 2017, but the net cost after the trade-ins will be <br />$39,502.43. <br />The Public Works Director stated that $13,000 was budgeted for a new Z - <br />turn lawn mower in 2016 to replace the 2009 Bobcat mower. He explained <br />that staff was able to get one more summer out of the Bobcat, but it now <br />needs to be replaced. He stated that Tri-State Bobcat quote a price of <br />$10,190 for a Toro Z -turn gas mower and offered a $4,100 trade-in for the <br />Bobcat mower. He stated this leaves a new price of $6,090 for the Toro <br />6000 Series Z -turn mower. He noted that the price quoted from Tri-State <br />Bobcat was lower than the National IPA price. He stated that the price for <br />this mower will also increase in November, so staff recommends <br />purchasing this mower in October. The Public Works Director stated that <br />both MTI Distributing and Tri-State Bobcat will not start the warranty <br />periods for either machine until spring 2017 when they start being used, <br />rather than the purchase date. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 2016-10-170 -APPROVING THE OCTOBER <br />PURCHASES OFA TORO GROUNDSMASTER 4000-D LARGE AREA <br />MOWER FROM MTI DISTRIB UTING FOR A NET PRICE OF <br />$39,502.43 AFTER TRADING IN TWO PIECES OF EQUIPMENT, <br />AND A TORO 6000 SERIES Z-TURNMOWER FROM TRI-STATE <br />BOBCAT FOR THE NET PRICE OF $6,090 AFTER TRADING IN <br />ONE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Aye (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />SANITARY The Public Works Director stated that the City received a $25,000 grant <br />SEWER from the Metropolitan Council for the purpose of eliminating inflow and <br />MANHOLE infiltration from the City's sanitary sewer system. He explained that a <br />GROUTING variety of projects are eligible for different paybacks from the grant money. <br />He stated that to date, funds have been used on manhole sealing for the <br />2015 and 2016 construction projects, and there will be about $11,000 of the <br />grant money left. The Public Works Director stated that another eligible <br />project is manhole grouting, which is 100% eligible and is reimbursed at <br />50% of the project costs. He explained that this is a process to seal lower <br />down in the manhole, and there are at least 20 manholes in the system <br />leaking at different areas in the manhole. He noted that the City has had <br />manholes grouted in the past but staff has found that the method used did <br />not hold for very long. He stated that because of this, he asked for a quote <br />from Thul Specialty Contracting because they use a different method. He <br />
