The Director indicated there was money donated
and set aside for reforestation efforts in Spooner Park this year. Darling
asked if the City Engineer could take a look at the projects to give better
cost estimates prior to the City Council workshop on August 24th. The
Director said he would ask the Engineer and contact the Commission as
soon as he has the costs back. Chu noted that the projects were each very
different. This could ultimately change their prioritization, especially once
the Commission knows how much money the Parks and Recreation
Budget will have. Chair Miller noted the projects will also have to align
with the new Mission statement and Goals of the Parks and Recreation
Department. Horwath made a motion to recommend the 2017 Capital
Budget Prioritization List be presented at the August 24th City Council
workshop at 6:00pm. Schletty seconded the motion. The motion was
unanimously approved.

The Recreation Supervisor reported the next Market Place Morning Talk
would take place Wednesday August 10th at the Bingo Hall. The topic will
be Neuropathy, presented by Golden Lake Ridge. Chu asked how the
topics are chosen. The Recreation Supervisor explained representatives
from the Roseville Area Senior Program, Golden Living Center-Lake
Ridge, the Parks and Recreation Department and Lyngblomsten come
together annually in October, to decide the monthly topics.

Sullivan asked how the Commission would like to commemorate Bill
Sanders’ and the Director’s retirement.
