MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 21, 2016 <br />Sandell and Ms. Beltmann will serve fiill three-year terms, and Mr. <br />Kwapick will fill the vacated position which expires on December 31, <br />2017. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2016-12-218— APPOINTING THE FOLLOWING <br />INDIVIDUALS TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENCING <br />JANUARY 2016: <br />NICK SANDELL — 3 YEAR TERM <br />CATHERINE BEL TMA NN— 3 YEAR TERM <br />CHRIS KWAPICK— FILL VACATED TERM THAT EXPIRES <br />DECEMBER 31, 2017 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Keis noted that the Planning Commission Ordinance provides that the <br />Mayor recommend a Chair for the Commission, with the Council to act on <br />the recommendation. The Vice Chair is chosen by the Commission. <br />Mayor Keis recommended that Bill Buesing be appointed as the Planning <br />Commission Chair for 2017. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2016-I2-219 — APPOINTING BILL B UESING AS <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION CHAIR FOR 2017. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />2017 PARKS & The City Clerk reported that the Parks & Recreation Commission terms <br />RECREATION for Rose Chu and Ron Horwath expire on December 31, 2016. <br />COMMISSION She stated that both Commissioners have reapplied. The vacancies were <br />APPOINTMENTS advertised for the Commission, and the Cleric noted that a committee <br />interviewed the one applicant. <br />Keis reported that he, Council Member Fischer, Parks & Recreation Chair <br />Miler, and the City Administrator also interviewed Taelor Johnson, an <br />applicant for the Parks & Recreation Commission. Keis indicated that the <br />Committee felt both Rose Chu and Ron Horwath should be reappointed, <br />but all felt that Ms. Johnson was a well-qualified applicant and she was <br />
