MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 11, 2017 <br />interviews, and the Council should decide who they want to be on the <br />interview committee. Fischer stated he liked that the Council received <br />information about the finalists during the last hiring process. McGraw <br />stated that he feels the whole Council should be involved in this hire. The <br />City Administrator stated that a decision about the interview committee <br />can be made at the next Council meeting. <br />ORGANIZED The City Administrator reported that the current organized collection <br />COLLECTION contract expired at the end of 2016, and staff has not come to a consensus <br />CONTRACT with the haulers yet. He stated they are meeting tomorrow, but thinks the <br />RENEWAL contract probably will not be ready until the first February meeting. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2017-1-9 — APPROVING THE ADDEND UM TO <br />EXTEND THE ORGANIZED COLLECTION CONTRACT TO <br />FEBR UARY 28, 2017, AS PRESETENTED BY THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />DISCUSS The City Administrator explained that the City was asked to use our tax <br />PARTICIPATING authority to issue bonds for St. Paul Academy, and it could generate <br />IN ISSUING around an $18,000 fee. He noted that this does not create any debt <br />CONDUIT BONDS obligation for the City. Keis stated the City has done this in the past and it <br />has worked out well.
