<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Keis and Members of City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Heidi Heller, City Clerk <br /> <br />DATE: January 6, 2017 <br /> <br />RE: Review Hiring Process for Parks & Recreation Position <br /> <br /> <br />Staff has finalized the Parks & Recreation job description with the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission, along with the proposed ad that will be put on the League of Minnesota Cities <br />website. Advertising will also be done with the Star Tribune, and staff will also look into <br />advertising on LinkedIn. <br /> <br />For the in person interviews, an interview committee could be put together if some City Council <br />members and Parks & Rec Commissioners want to be involved. <br /> <br />Staff is proposing the following hiring schedule: <br /> <br />Sunday, January 15 – all advertising will be placed <br />Friday, February 10 – all application materials due to City Clerk <br />Week of February 13 – City Staff will review and score applications <br />Week of February 21 – Phone interviews with City Staff with first round of selected applicants <br />Week of February 27 – In person interviews with 3-5 applicants <br />Week of March 6 – Reference & Background Checking <br />By March 10 – Offer made to an applicant <br />April 3 or 10 – Start date for new employee <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
