MINUTES CITY COUNCIL FEBRUARY 22, 2017 RESOL UTION NO. 2017-2-32 —APPROVAL OFA NEW JOHN DEERE 5085M TRACTOR AND A BERTI TAIS200 FLAIL MOWER FOR A TOTAL COST OF $71,437.44. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. ADOPTION OF The City Administrator stated that the City Council held their 2017 goal 2017 GOALS setting session on February 13, 2017 with representatives from City Staff, Fire Department, Sheriff's Department, Parks & Recreation Commission, Planning Commission and two residents. He noted this may have been the first time that voting on the goals between the Council and non -elected participants resulted in the same goals for adoption. The City Administrator stated the top five goals were Community Engagement, Parks Master Plan, Work with Ramsey County Sheriff's Department on how they are hiring deputies, training deputies, and planning for a response action plan if a race involve police event occurs in a jurisdiction as well as any current actions/plans for improving race relations, Comprehensive Plan Update and Increase efforts on crime prevention in focused areas with higher crime rates. He stated that Staff recommends the Council adopt their 2017 goals. McGraw asked how the goals that have multiple ideas will be dealt with. The City Administrator stated that there will need to be a Request For Proposal for the parks master plan, and there will need to be discussion on how to develop some action plans to work on the bigger goals. Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOL UTION NO. 2017-2-33 —APPROVAL OF THE 2017 GOALS AS STATED BY THE CITYADMINISTRA TOR. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
