MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 22, 2017
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
PURCHASE A The Public Works Director explained that the City's agreement with the
USED SEWER League of Minnesota Cities Insurance Trust is to inspect all of the sanitary
CAMERA sewer lines every three years. He stated that they inspect one-third of the
TRAILER lines in the City every year. He explained that by televising rather than
jetting, the inspections can be done all year around rather than only being
able to do it in the summer since jetting requires water. He reported that
he found a used camera trailer from the City of Owatonna for $42,000,
plus $13,000 for software and about $3,500 for a camera crane and other
modifications to the trailer, not to exceed a total of $60,000. He stated
that $100,000 was budgeted for this camera in the water and sewer capital
improvement fund. He noted that this camera has the ability to pan and
tilt so it could look up into private services.
McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2017-2-31—APPROVAL OF THE PURCHASE
OFA USED SEWER CAMERA TRAILER, SOFTWARE, CAMERA
CRANE AND TRAILER MODIFICATIONS NOT TO EXCEED
$60,000, WITH FUNDS FROM THE WATER AND SEWER CAPITAL
IMROVEMENT FUND.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
PURCHASE OF A The Public Works Director explained the City mows over two miles of
JOHN DEERE boulevard a few times over the summer, and they currently have a 1987
TRACTOR AND tractor with an open air cab that has caused issues for the operators, and it
FLAIL MOWER is showing wear and needing extra money put into it. He stated that he is
proposing to purchase a John Deere tractor with a flail mower that can
follow the grade of the ground and is able to mow better. He noted the
tractor will also be used for plowing. The Public Works Director stated
that the state contract price for the mower is $61,362.69, and the flail
mower is $10,074.75, for a total of $71,437.44. He noted they plan to sell
the 1987 mower for about $3,500.
McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
6
