- 4 -
the standard practice of assessing 50% of the project improvement costs of a
rehabilitation.

A preliminary assessment roll has been prepared and is shown in Appendix B.
Table 1 below summarizes the total project cost that will be borne by the City and
the cost that will be assessed to the benefited properties.

Table 1
City Costs vs. Assessable Costs

LOCATION
TOTAL
LITTLE
CANADA
COST
CITY
COST % CITY ASSESSED
COST
%
ASSESSED

KELLER PARKWAY $22,500.00 $18,750.00 83.3% $3,750.00 16.7%

It should be noted that the County will be providing more detail on the cost split and a
cooperative agreement for execution in the future, but they have indicated they may be
able to advance fund the project for the City until January of 2019.

X. SUMMARY

The project is feasible from an engineering standpoint and this section of roadway has
deteriorated to a level that necessitates an improvement by mill and overlay. The work
would be done as part of a much larger Ramsey County project to ensure project cost
effectiveness. The improvement of this segment would be another step in improving and
maintaining the street infrastructure within Little Canada.
