<br /> <br />f. Notification. If any resident of the City places yard waste out for pickup and the <br />material is not taken by the Contractor, the Contractor shall provide immediate written <br />notification to the resident and the City of reason(s) for refusal to pick up the item. <br />Notification must be left on the item(s) in question. Notifications left for a resident must <br />be submitted to the City by noon on the following day after collection was refused. <br /> <br />g. Education. It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to assist in the education of <br />residents on how to properly prepare yard waste. Contractor will work with City staff on a <br />quarterly basis on a frequency as determined by the City to prepare written materials for <br />residents. All educational materials for customers under the contract must be approved by <br />the City prior to mailing. <br /> <br /> <br />3. Recycling Collection. <br /> <br />a. Description. Recyclable collections service shall include the collection of recyclables as <br />defined in this contract. Cost for this service is described in Attachment “A”. <br /> <br />b. Containers. The Contractor shall supply all residential dwelling units eligible to <br />participate in the recycling program with a single sort- recycling container on wheels, for <br />the storage and collection of recyclable materials. The standard container for recycling under <br />this contract will be a 60-gallon cart. Residents have the option to increase or decrease their <br />cart size or request a second recycling cart at no additional charge for service. <br /> <br />c. Single Sort System. Residents will be instructed to place all recyclable materials, listed in <br />the definitions section, into the single sort container. The Contractor shall not make any <br />changes to this single sort collection system without written approval of the City. Failure <br />to receive City approval for any such changes to the single sort collection system shall be <br />considered by the City as a breach of this AgreementContract subject to termination. The <br />Contractor shall work with the City to provide necessary written educational materials on the <br />single sort system for residents including a legible sticker placed on each container that <br />lists approved recyclable items. <br /> <br />d. Location. Residential dwelling units shall have their recyclables in the approved containers <br />provided by the Contractor located at the boulevard adjoining the curb on or before 7:00 <br />a.m. on the designated day of collection. <br /> <br />e. Frequency. Each residential dwelling unit shall have its recyclables collected every-other <br />week on the same day as refuse collection service. The Contractor shall provide an annual <br />calendar to each resident by no later than December 20th that indicates the collection dates <br />for the upcoming year. By November 30th, the hauler will provide the City with an <br />electronic version of the annual recycling calendar which indicates the collection dates for <br />the upcoming year. This electronic calendar will be revised to in clud e th e City lo go as well <br />as th e City’ s co n tact in fo rmation. The City will advertise in the newsletter and on our <br />website that the electronic calendar is available. A printed copy of the calendar will be <br />made available upon request by the resident. <br /> <br />f. Reporting. Tonnages of recyclables collected shall be reported to the City on an annual <br />basis by January 22nd of the following year. These tonnages must be reported by <br />individual materials collected and the place where the recyclables are delivered must be
