MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 22, 2017 <br />*CALL FOR A WORKSHOP ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 26,2017A T <br />6.00PM TO DISCUSS A CTIONPLANS FOR THE 2017 ADOPTED <br />GOALS <br />*APPROVE REAPPORTIONMENT OF ASSESSMENT #5-532010120 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CANADIAN DAYS The City Administrator explained that RES Pyrotechnics has suggested <br />FIREWORKS that the City consider increasing the amount spent on the Canadian Days <br />fireworks since a $1,000 increase would make a noticeable difference. He <br />stated that currently a total of $5,500 is spent with Canadian Days paying <br />$1,000 of that. He noted that neither RES nor Canadian Days asked Staff <br />to present this question to the Council. <br />Montour stated that the fireworks display is an important part of Canadian <br />Days and is always very well attended. He suggested increasing the City's <br />contribution by $2,000 to a total of $6,500. He noted that Canadian Days <br />would continue to pay $1,000, so the total cost of the fireworks display <br />would be increased to $7,500. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2017-3-46 —APPROVING A CITY FUNDING <br />INCREASE OF $2,000, FOR A TOTAL OF $6,500 TO BE PAID BY <br />THE CITY FOR THE CANADIANDAYS FIREWORKS DISPLAY, <br />AND CANADIANDAYS PAYING $1,000, FOR A TOTAL <br />FIREWORKS DISPLAY COST OF $7,500 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />AWARD BIDS The City Administrator reported that the four bids that were received for <br />FOR 2017 the 2017 street and utility improvement projects were opened this <br />IMPROVEMENT morning. He explained that based on the bids received and reviewed, T.A. <br />PROJECTS Schifsky & Sons is the low bidder at $959,998.28. He noted that the City <br />Engineer had estimated the construction costs at $1,200,000. He stated <br />that the parking lot expansion at the fire station was also included in this <br />year's projects.
