MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 10, 2017 <br />VANDERBIE The City Administrator reported that the City Engineer informed staff that <br />STREET Vanderbie Street is being improved, but other than a few repairs, most of <br />RE HABILITATION the curbing will remain. He stated that there are nine properties on the <br />— DRIVEWAY west side of the street that have mountable curb at their driveway <br />APPROACH entrances. He explained that with some other street projects in the past, <br />MODIFICATIONS the residents have complained about the aggressive driveway curb cuts, so <br />the City replaced the curb cuts and those costs were shared with the <br />residents. He noted that no comments were made about the driveways on <br />Vanderbie at the neighborhood meetings, but if Council choses, the <br />Engineer can send out letters to offer the same shared cost structure as was <br />done for the Ontario Road residents. Keis asked how much doing this <br />would cost. The City Administrator stated likely around $3,000. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTIONNO. 2017-5-84 —APPROVING OFFERING <br />DRIVEWAY CURB CUT MODIFICATIONS TO THE NINE <br />PROPERTIES ON VANDERBIE, WITH THE SAME COST <br />SHARING STRUCTURE AS WAS DONE FOR RESIDENTS ON <br />ONTARIO ROAD; PROPERTY OWNER WOULD PAY FOR 50% OF <br />THE CURB REPLACEMENT COST AND 100% OF THE <br />ASSOCIATED DRIVEWAYREPLACEMENT COSTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />RESOLUTION <br />The City Administrator explained that the Legislature is proposing <br />OPPOSING <br />legislation that significantly limits existing local authority to regulate <br />LEGISLATION <br />utility placement within the public right-of-way. He noted this legislation <br />REGARDING <br />would allow wireless companies to install small cell facility networks in <br />UNREGULATED <br />public right-of-way, but City currently governs placement in the right -of - <br />ACCESS TO <br />way per our City Code.
