CREATING <br />PUBLIC ACCESS <br />ON SAVAGE <br />LAKE <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />February 2, 2017 <br /> <br /> Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on <br />the 2nd of February in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road East in said city. <br /> <br /> Vice Chair Ron Horwath called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the commission were present: <br /> <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Rose Chu <br /> Ms. Sharen Darling <br /> Mr. Ron Horwath <br /> Mr. Tom Ray <br /> Mr. Peter Schletty <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br /> <br /> ABSENT: Mr. Dave Miller <br /> <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Ms. Katie McGinnity, Rec. Supervisor <br /> Mr. Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br /> Mr. Tom Fischer, City Council Member <br /> Ms. Vanessa Van Alstine Cable TV Prod. <br /> Mr. Kevin Helander Cable TV Producer <br /> <br /> <br />Ray made a motion to approve the minutes from the January meeting. <br />Schletty seconded the motion. The motion passed 6 – 0. <br /> <br /> <br /> The City Administrator reported staff had drafted a survey to send to <br />residents in the area of West Savage Lake. He reminded the Commission <br />that the plan is to send the survey, by mail, to residents within the County <br />Road C, railroad tracks, I-35E, and Highway 36 boundaries. The City <br />Administrator indicated the survey would be highlighted in the next <br />newsletter, and any resident could share their input. He explained the <br />survey could be filled out on Survey Monkey, or mailed in. The City <br />Administrator explained the survey had to give some detail as to what the <br />plans for the access entailed so the survey explains the two access points, <br />but cites Lake Street as the most likely option. He stated this option was <br />better for parking, and has slightly better grading down to the lake. The <br />City Administrator also mentioned that neither trail option meets ADA <br />MINUTES <br />
