MINUTES <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />April 6, 2017 <br />motion to tear down the storage shed. Chu seconded the motion. The <br />motion was unanimously approved. <br /> <br /> <br />The Recreation Supervisor explained she had spoken with Public Works <br />about the dog park and potential drainage issues. She stated that they were <br />not worried about drainage, but thought the grass would not hold up. The <br />Recreation Supervisor explained Public Works suggested using woodchips <br />which would have to be removed in the fall for the ice rink. She explained <br />they were looking into the cost of using woodchips. <br /> <br />The Recreation Supervisor reported the next Market Place Morning Talk <br />topic would be Healthy Cooking on April 12, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. <br /> <br />The Recreation Supervisor reported gymnastics was having its final lesson <br />tonight. She stated both defensive driver classes had been full, and the <br />final eight hour refresher course still had openings on April 24th and 25th <br />from 6p.m. – 10 p.m. <br /> <br />The Recreation Supervisor reported the garage sale fliers would be going <br />out with the utility bills this month. <br /> <br />The Recreation Supervisor invited the Commission to the Arbor Day <br />Celebration at Pioneer Park on Friday, May 5th at 1:00pm. <br /> <br />The Recreation Supervisor explained the City is teaming up with Anytime <br />Fitness to hold Exercise in the Park every Saturday in May from 11:00 <br />a.m.– 12:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The Recreation Supervisor reported she was beginning to plan for the Ice <br />Cream Social which will be the first Thursday in August, and she asked if <br />the Commission had any ideas to send them to her. Chair Miller suggested <br />a magician, and Chu suggested having a photo booth, like last year. <br /> <br /> <br />Horwath moved the meeting be adjourned. <br /> Motion seconded by Darling. <br /> Motion carried 6 – 0. <br /> <br /> There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m. <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> Anna Leibel <br /> Recording Secretar y <br />OTHER <br />BUSINESS <br />ADJOURN
