Resolution declared adopted.
R. A. MORTON The City Administrator reported that Ron Morton has indicated that a 60 day
commitment from the City giving him preferred developer status for the
northeast corner of Rice Street and Little Canada Road would not be adequate
time for him to pursue redevelopment of this corner. Morton has indicated that
it will take some time to continue working with the engineering firm that is a
prospective tenant for this project as well as pursue other leases for the
building.
LaValle pointed out George Sherman & Associates' interest in redeveloping
this corner in addition to the southeast corner. The Council discussed the
advantages to having the same developer and architectural firm develop both
corners, and felt that preferred developer status should be offered to Sherman
for the northeast corner as well.
Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2002-2-49 -GRANTING GEORGF..SHERMAN &
ASSOCIATES PREFERRED DEVELOPER STATUS FOR TF/E
NORTHEAST CORNER OF RICE STREET AND LITTI_B CANADA
ROAD
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle.
Ayes (4) Fahey, LaValle, Montour, Scalze.
Nays (0).
