MINUTES <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />December 7, 2017 <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager reported there was no Market Place <br />Morning Talk this month. <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager reported basketball registration is open <br />for grades three through eight, as well as a basketball clinic, skating <br />lessons and gymnastics. He also stated there is a basketball open gym at <br />Little Canada Elementary every Sunday night from 6:00 – 8:00pm. <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager reported Cookies with Santa would be <br />a new event at City Hall on Saturday, December 9 from 1:00 – 3:00pm. <br />He explained this is a bring your own camera event and there would be <br />complementary hot chocolate, lemonade, and cookies. Balloon art and <br />face painting will also be available for entertainment. <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager reported square dancing classes are <br />every Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and the program would run <br />through the end of December. He noted the first class you attend is free. <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager reported senior exercise takes place <br />year round, every Wednesday and Friday from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the Old <br />Fire Hall. <br /> <br />The Community Services Manager thanked Patti Sullivan for her time as a <br />Parks and Recreation Commissioner, explaining this would be her last <br />meeting. Sullivan thanked the Commission and the Community Services <br />Manager, and shared her willingness to help with future volunteering <br />events. <br /> <br />Chair Miller moved the meeting be adjourned <br /> <br /> Motion seconded by Sullivan. <br /> <br /> Motion carried 6 – 0. <br /> <br /> There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Anna Leibel <br /> Recording Secretar y <br />OTHER <br />BUSINESS <br />ADJOURN
