MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 20, 2017 <br />The City Administrator stated that there is designated wetland area on Mr. <br />Sculley's property that cannot be developed. <br />2018 The City Cleric stated that the terms for Bill Buesing, Chris Kwapick and <br />APPOINTMENTS Eric Thorson will expire on December 31, 2017, and that all three have <br />TO THE <br />reapplied for the Planning Commission. She reported that Commissioner <br />PLANNING <br />Nick Sandell has also informed staff that he will be moving out of the City <br />COMMISSION <br />in spring 2018, so the remainder of his term will also need to be filled after <br />AND SELECTION <br />he resigns. She stated that four applications in addition to the incumbents <br />OF THE 2018 <br />were received for the Planning Commission, and the interview committee <br />CHAIR <br />is recommending that Bill Buesing, Chris Kwapick and Eric Thorson be <br />reappointed for 3 -year terms, and Nicole George be appointed to fill the <br />remainder of Nick Sandell's term through December 2019. She explained <br />that Ms. George will not officially be appointed until after Mr. Sandell <br />resigns, but staff has encouraged her to begin attending the Planning <br />Commission meetings in order to be involved with the upcoming <br />Comprehensive Plan discussions. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2017-12-237 ACCEPT THE <br />RECOMMENDATION OF THE INTERVIEW COMMITTEE TO <br />REAPPOINT BILL BUSSING, CHRIS KWAPICKAND ERIC <br />THORSON TO 3 -YEAR TERMS ON THE PLANNING <br />COMMISSION, AND APPOINT NICOLE GEORGE TO REPLACE <br />NICK SANDELL AFTER HIS RESIGNATION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2017-12-238 APPOINT BILL B UESING TO BE <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION CHAIR IN 2018 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0).
