MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 20, 2017 <br />PUBLIC HEARING The Associate Planner reported that the applicant, Lee Meyer, owner of <br />— PUD PERMIT <br />Pete's Sewer & Water, has applied for approval of a PUD amendment for <br />AMENDMENT <br />the outdoor storage. She explained that Mr. Meyer has a purchase <br />FOR OUTDOOR <br />agreement to buy the property. She stated that Staff is working with the <br />STORAGE & <br />applicant and has suggested eliminating the center storage area since Staff <br />ALLOW <br />feels that it will be difficult to contain the items and maintain the required <br />OUTDOOR <br />drive aisles on both sides. She explained that due to the lack of rear yard, <br />STORAGE IN THE <br />staff does feel that there is a reason to vary from some of the requirements, <br />FRONT YARD <br />but Staff is trying to get to a better balance between what the applicant <br />AREA AT 3151 <br />wants and what the code requirements are. She noted that the two <br />COUNTRY DRIVE; <br />adjacent properties to the west have variances to allow storage in front of <br />APPLICANT: <br />the front line of the building, but are held to maintaining a 40 foot setback <br />MEYER <br />from Ryan Drive. <br />COMPANIES <br />The Associate Planner explained that the applicant is still working on a <br />site plan, so the Planning Commission tabled the case until their January <br />meeting. Keis opened the public hearing to hear the request for a Planned <br />Unit Development Amendment for outdoor storage and to allow outdoor <br />storage in the front yard area of 3151 Country Drive. He explained that <br />the Planning Commission had voted to table this planning case until their <br />January t 1, 2018 meeting, but the public hearing had been scheduled for <br />tonight so the public hearing would be opened and continued until the <br />January 24, 2018 City Council meeting. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 2017-12-221 -OPENING THE PUBLIC HEARING <br />FOR A PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT PERMIT AMENDMENT <br />FOR OUTDOOR STORAGE & ALLOW OUTDOOR STORAGE IN <br />THE FRONT YARD AREA AT 3151 CO UNTR Y DRI VE, AND <br />CONTINUING THE HEARING UNTIL THE JANUARY 24, 2018 <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. <br />Aye (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PUBLIC HEARING - The City Planner reported that the applicants are proposing to redevelop <br />ARCHITECTURAL the former A&W restaurant site by constructing a new building for a <br />REVIEW FOR A restaurant. He noted that initially there was concern that a variance for <br />NEW RE STAURANTparking would be needed, but after a closer review, the parking <br />AT 3006 RICE ST; requirements are met. <br />APPLICANT: LEON <br />PROPERTIES UNO, <br />LLC <br />2 <br />
