MINUTES OP' TIIE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLC CANADA, MINNI;SO'fA <br />JUNE 12, 2002 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City Council of <br />Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 12'x' day of June, 2002 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Lahey called the meeting to order at 6:15 p.m. and the following <br />members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br /> C1TY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br /> Council Member Ms. Beverly Scalze <br /> Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br /> Council Member Mr. Matt Anderson <br /> Council Member Mr. Rick Montour <br /> ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R Hanson <br /> City Attorney Mr. Tom Sweeney <br /> Sherman Associates Mr. George Sherman <br /> CSG Architects Mr. Kirk Villette <br /> Planning Comm. Mr. Tom Roycrati <br /> Planning Comm. Mr. Tom Wojcik <br /> Deputy Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />f21CE STREET/ Mr. George Sherman, Sherman Associates, appeared before the Council <br />LITTLE to review concept plans for the southeast corner of Rice Street and Little <br />CANADA Canada Road as well as discuss the concept of redevelopment of the northeast <br />I20AD corner as well. Sherman reported that he w ould hope Co begin construction <br />REDEVELOP- on the senior' housing building in mid-Octob er and on the senior townhomes <br />MENT in May of 2003. <br />Sherman presented a concept plan for the southeast corner. Sherman noted that he is <br />currently in conversations with the owners of the Ultimate Golf property to pw-chase <br />the back portion of their property that would then be included in the redevelopment <br />area. The concept plan presented this evening does includes the portion of the <br />Ultimate Golf property under negotiation and expands the nwnber of townhomes that <br />can be developed in this area. Should it not be possible to acquire this property, the <br />plan would have to be modified and the number of townhomes reduced. <br />Sherman reported that the Ramsey/Washington Watershed District has reviewed the <br />site and has identified two wetlands on the property. One wetland is a Class C <br />wetland and is likely to be highly protected. This wetland is in the southeast portion <br />of the property. Any disturbance of this wetland area would require a 2 for 1 <br />
