Council reviewed the Public AA~orla Director's recommendation that <br />ON PAYNE the lust 250 feet of Payne Avenue north of LaQore Road be posted as no <br />AVI',NUti parking on both sides oi'the street. The Director indicated that he is <br />making this recommendation based on public safety issues related to <br />trafT~ic and emergency vehicle access. <br />Montour suggested that residents in the area should be notified that this <br />issues is being considered prior to the Council's taking action. <br />I~ahey Doted that there is a house under construction in this area and <br />questioned ~n-Nether it was the construction activity that is causing the <br />public safety concern. <br />fhe Public Ayrorla Director noted that (his first 250 feet of Payne Avenue <br />has a pavement wid[h of only 24 I'ect versus the City standard of 30 feet. <br />Fahey sug~~ested that a solution may be to limit on-sheet parking to one <br />side of the mad rather than totally prohibit on-street parking in this area. <br />Council felt tha( action on this matter should be tabled and that property <br />owners along Payne Avenue should be notified that the issue will be <br />reviewed by the Council Council also asked that the Public Works <br />Director provide. them ~n%ilh information on the width of vehicles, <br />including sno~a~plow and lire. tract,, so that they can weigh this <br />information in relation to the ~n~idih of the street and the impact of on- <br />street parking. <br />9 <br />
