One city reports
the MACC director requested $55,000 to hire an additional animal tech. If all 12 remaining RC cities still
searching shared the cost, we are looking at ~$4600 per city.
Animal Humane Society closed its facility in Buffalo, MN. Equipment from that site may be available at
discount?
All of the veterinary clinics in the northern part of the county were contacted. Como Park Animal
Hospital on Dale St in St Paul is planning to expand and relocate in 2019 to Larpenteur and Rice area.
Most cities affected are interested in possibly replicating a facility similar to Maple Grove’s P.U.P.S.
(https://www.facebook.com/MGImpoundDogs) over here.
Short term, there is a possibility that we may have to erect a temporary emergency shelter for our
animals—like at the MN State Fairgrounds. I am exploring that option as well with the county emergency
management team.
