MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MARCH 14, 2018 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City Council <br />of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 14th day of March, 2018 in the <br />Conference Room of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />Mayor John Keis called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the following <br />members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />City Administrator <br />Assoc. Planner/Code Enf. <br />City Clerk <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Tom Fischer <br />Mr. Rick Montour <br />Mr. Mike McGraw <br />Mr. Christian Torkelson <br />Mr. Joel Hanson <br />Ms. Jessica Jagoe <br />Ms. Heidi Heller <br />Mayor Keis stated that the purpose of this evening's workshop is to discuss the <br />2018 Council Goal Action Plans. <br />2018 COUNCIL The City Administrator explained that the Council adopted six goals for 2018 <br />GOAL ACTION and actions plans were drafted for each goal. <br />PLANS <br />The City Administrator stated that the Redevelopment goal has several action <br />items, and he has started putting together a comprehensive list of the City's land <br />purchases. He reviewed the other action items: consider proactive options for <br />targeted redevelopment, prepare report on options for use of remaining TIF <br />balances and conduct workshop to review reports and determine next steps. He <br />noted that the discussion about creating a downtown should be part of <br />redevelopment, and that the Council needs to figure out what is really wanted <br />and some parameters. Torkelson stated that he would like a group of developers <br />to look at the City and tell us about the market and what they would want to <br />build here. The City Administrator stated that over the years developers have <br />told us that the City should focus on neighborhood level development since <br />Little Canada is between Maplewood and Roseville, which are both regional <br />retail and commercial areas. <br />
