MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP <br />APRIL 11, 2018 <br />o Trails: <br />■ Support for Trout Brook Trail completion, completing <br />trail connections, crossings along waterworks over 694 & <br />35E, Highway 36 crossing as part of Trout Brook? <br />o Support for existing facility and trail improvements? <br />o Support for some sort of splash pad/water feature? <br />o Support for park shelter renovations? <br />o Is there a need for new community meeting space? <br />• Code enforcement — junk cars, signage, debris/outdoor storage, parking, <br />yard maintenance <br />o Is the City doing enough proactive code enforcement? <br />• Community awareness and communications: <br />o How do people want to get city info? <br />o Effectiveness of city newsletter, Facebook, Nextdoor, Channel <br />16, Roseville Review <br />• Community engagement — buzz word now, what are other cities asking <br />on this subject? <br />• Redevelopment initiatives: <br />o Is there support for a town square — downtown -outdoor <br />community gathering area? <br />o Support for a luxury apartment building? <br />o Should the city be actively purchasing available properties to <br />assist in redevelopment? <br />o Support the use of financial incentives from the city to bring in <br />development <br />• Housing: <br />o Should the City preserve existing affordable housing (apartments, <br />condos, mobile homes) <br />o Is there enough affordable housing in the city? <br />What city services are we missing? <br />Public safety — general satisfaction <br />Mr. Leatherman stated that he would add race and ethnicity to the data collected. <br />He explained that he will take out questions from the last survey that are no <br />longer applicable and add in the new topics. <br />There being no further business, the workshop was adjourned at 7:22p.m. <br />'Jo - Keis, Mayor <br />Attest: <br />Jo 1 FJ&son, City Administrator <br />14 <br />
