MINI7T,ES
CITY COUNCLL
JULY 24, 2002
Rosauer further reported on another fund-raising effort that the Little
Canada Historical Society has undertaken. •Phey will be raffling a 7-foot
by 9-foot playhouse at this years Canadian Days. The playhouse is a
replica of the Grist Mill and was constructed by Fred Quison Construction
Company.
Mayor Fahey thanked the Historical Society for their diligent efforts i^
repaying the City for the cost of the addition. He noted that the Historical
Society is repaying this loan much faster than was anticipated.
REZONING TO Mayor Fahey re-opened the Public I fearing to consider the Rezoning of
PUD AND PUD 3180 Country Drive to Planned Unit Development (.PUD) and a PUD
PERMIT - Permit to allow for the outdoor storage of boats/pontoons as requested by
3180 COUNTRY Boater's Outlet. Fahey noted that the matter was tabled at the June 26th
D,12NE - meeting pending receipt of additional information including a revised site
BOATER'S plan and screening plan Por the outdoor storage area.
OU"1'LL:T
The City Planner indicated that the prroposed screening plan includes gaps
in the screening given the two gates that are proposed in the fencing. The Planner noted that this particular property
has more than adequate parking and there is potential to further develop
the site with an expansion of the existing building. The Planner estimated
that an additional 10,000 square feet of warehouse building could be
developed on the site while still meeting parking requirements.
Fahey indicated that the site appeared to him to be fully developed and it
was unlikely that a building expansion would occur.
Glenn Kloskin, Boater's OuHet, reported that the property owners have no
intention of adding on to their building. In response to the City Planner's
report, Kloskin indicated that they intend to provide screening for the gate
area of the fence by putting a lightweight cedar on these gates. Kloskin
further reported that just today they had secured an off-site storage site for
the business, and indicated That this property is not located in Little
Canada.
Fahey asked if there was sufficient turning radius for semis within the
storage yard. 'fhe City Administrator indicated that the City Engineer has
expressed concern that semis would not be able to turn within the storage
yard.
