Resolution declared adopted.
MOMENT OF Mayor Fahey and the Council observed a moment of silence in
SILENCE remembrance for the victims of the 9-11 attack.
VACATION Mayor Fahey opened the public hearing to consider the vacation of a
OF PORTION portion of Park Street. Fahey noted that the proposed vacation is the result
OF PARK of discussions with the developer of the Edgewater Townoffice project
STREET related to the City's requirement for access to the project via Rice Street.
Todd Phillips, resident in the area, thanked the Council for their work on
the Edgewater Townoffice project noting that the project appears to be a
good one and includes a lot of landscaping. Phillips asked for additional
explanation related to the street vacation.
Fahey noted that the width of the right-of--way easement for Park Street as
it abuts the Edgewater property, is wider than the City's minimum
standard of 50 feet for a residential street. In order to accommodate access
for the project via Rice Street as well as provide adequate on-site parking,
the City indicated that it would consider the vacation of a portion of the
Pa~~k Street right-of--way. The City will preserve the appropriate right-of-
way for the street, and the vacation of a portion of the excess right-of--way
will not impact the location of the blacktop, etc.
There was no one else present from the general public wishing to
comment on this matter.
