MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 13, 2002 <br />THE LODGE Scalze noted a number of action items on the agenda relative to The Lodge <br />AT LITTLE at Little Canada, a 79-unit senior apartment building that contains 14,000 <br />CANADA square feet of first-floor retail space. The first action item relates to the Council's <br />conveyance of the land for the redevelopment area from the City to the Economic <br />Development Authority. The City Administrator noted that the EDA will then do the <br />final land transfer to the developer, Sherman Associates. <br />Mr. Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2(/02-11-255-APPROVING THE v)UIT CLAIM DEED <br />TRANSFERRING THE CARDINAL. AND VENETIAN INN PROPERTY FROM <br />THE CITY OF I ITTL E CANADA TO THE ECONOMIC DEVEI OPMENT <br />AUTIIORITYAND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE DEED 73Y <br />THE MAYOR AND CITYADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (3) Anderson, Montour, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Scalze noted the need to convene as the Economic Development Authority for the <br />next action items. <br />Mr. Montour inrioduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-II-256 - TEMPORARILYAD.IOURNING AS THE <br />CITY COUNCIL. AND CONVENING AS THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />AUTHORITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (3) Montour, Scalze, Anderson. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Scalze opened the Public Hearing regarding the disposition of property relative to <br />The bodge at Little Canada senior housing/retail project. <br />The City Administrator reported that the land involved in this project encompasses <br />the former Venetian property, and a portion of the former Rutzick property that was <br />recently acquired by the City. The Administrator reviewed in detail the terms of the <br />Purchase Agreement for this property. The purchase price is $700,000 that includes <br />$150,000 non-refundable earnest money, $350,000 at closing, and a $200,000 note. <br />The City Attorney noted that this public hearing is being held pursuant to State <br />Statute X469.105 relating to the sale of land by an EDA.
