CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 830 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 903.110 OF THE LITTLE CANADA CITY <br />CODE, KNOWN AS THE ZONING CODE. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Little Canada hereby amends Section 903.110, <br />known as Zoning Code, General Provisions, to modify Section 903.110.E, by adding the <br />underlined material and deleting the stricken material as follows: <br /> <br />E. District Regulations. The following sections concern signs which require application and <br />permit. Subject to other regulations in specific districts, no sign shall be located closer <br />than five (5) feet to any property line. <br /> <br />1. "R-1" and "R-2" Residential Districts, and “P” Public District: <br /> <br />a. Institutional or area identification signs (monument type only), provided <br />that the gross square footage of sign area does not exceed twenty-four (24) <br />square feet in the “R-1” and “R-2 Districts, and thirty-two (32) square feet <br />in the “P” District. If the sign is freestanding, the height shall not exceed <br />eight (8) feet. <br /> <br />5. "B-2" through "B-I", and "I-1" and “I-P” Districts, and “P” Public District: <br /> <br />a. Except for corner lots as described in this section, the maximum number <br />of signs on any principal building shall be two (2) and in all cases, the <br />total sign area shall be calculated as fifteen (15) percent of the gross <br />silhouette area of the front of the building. Where the principal building is <br />on a corner or through lot and thus faces two (2) public streets, both sides <br />may be counted. If, however, the building has only one (1) frontage and <br />the owner elects to erect two (2) signs, the total square footage of both <br />signs may not exceed the maximum allowable square footage determined <br />from the front building silhouette. For purposes of determining the gross <br />area of the silhouette of the principal building, the silhouette shall be <br />defined as that area within an outline drawing of the principal building as <br />viewed from the front lot line or from the related public street(s).In <br />addition to wall signs, freestanding signs may be utilized, or a <br />combination of both. In the B-2, B-3, and B-4 and P zoning districts, each <br />building shall be allowed one wall sign and one freestanding sign, except <br />that corner lots may utilize one wall sign per street frontage plus one <br />freestanding sign. For all buildings in all other zoning districts, no more <br />than one (1) pylon sign or combination of two (2) signs be displayed. <br /> <br />
