Ms. Jessica Jagoe, Associate Planner <br />September 4, 2018 <br />Page 15 <br /> <br />As shown on the site plan, features of the proposed AFSA school site include: <br /> <br /> Enter the site from the south driveway only. <br /> Exit the site from the north driveway only. <br /> One-way, clockwise circulation around the site. <br /> Ample space for passenger vehicles (automobiles) to overtake school buses that in queue. <br /> Student drop-off procedures that require parents to park in the southside parking lot, get <br />out of their cars, and escort students (K through 6) to the doors of the school building. <br /> Student pick-up procedures that require parents to park in the southside parking lot, get <br />out of their cars, wait for their students (K through 6) to exit the building, and then escort <br />them to the parked cars before departing the site. <br /> Two rounds of bus arrivals/departures, where no more than five buses per round will be <br />on-site at any given time. <br /> Ample space for four buses to queue along the northern edge of the fenced playground. <br /> Ample space for a fifth bus to stage along the western side of the school building while <br />waiting to join the queue along the northern edge of the playground. <br /> Bus operations that require buses to drop-off and pick-up students on the north side of <br />the school building and require students to walk through the fenced in playground as they <br />alight and board the buses. <br /> Seventy-nine (79) parking stalls where 38 stalls are reserved for faculty and staff, and four <br />are reserved for wheelchair accessible parking. <br /> Four (4) parking stalls that will be designated for exclusive use by floating faculty. These <br />stalls (each 7-1/2 feet wide), when combined with the 59 foot-long driveway, provide 74 <br />feet of on-site capacity that can be filled with congested vehicles, if on-site congestion <br />occurs. <br /> <br /> <br />Data Collection and Field Observations <br /> <br />To document existing conditions, turning movement counts were collected by Biko Associates <br />at the I-35E Southbound Ramps/Little Canada Road/Country Drive intersection during the <br />week of August 20 over the following time periods: <br />• AM Peak Period: 6:30-9:00 a.m. <br />Note: 7:15-8:00 AM was observed to be the AM. peak hour <br />• PM Peak Period: 4:00-6:00 p.m. <br />Note: 4:15-5:00 PM was observed to be the PM peak hour <br /> <br />In addition to traffic volume data collection, observations were completed to identify roadway <br />characteristics within the study area, which are summarized in Table 3. <br /> <br />
