Ms. Jessica Jagoe, Associate Planner
September 4, 2018
Page 19

Results of the existing intersection capacity analysis, presented in Table 5, indicate that the
I-35E Southbound Ramps/Little Canada Road/Country Drive intersection currently operates at
overall LOS C during the AM and PM. peak hours. The southbound Country Drive and
Southbound I-35E Exit Ramp approaches both operate in the LOS D to LOS E range during
the AM and PM peak hours, though this side-street LOS should not be considered excessive
given the atypical geometry and signal phasing of the study intersection. No significant
queueing issues were observed in the field or traffic simulation. Detailed operations and
queuing analysis results are presented in Appendix A.

Table 5
2018 Existing Intersection Capacity Analysis
Intersection Year AM Peak Hour PM Peak Hour
LOS* Delay**
(seconds)
LOS* Delay**
(seconds)
I-35E Southbound
Ramps/ Little Canada
Road/ Country Drive
2018 C / D to E 30.5 / 79.8 C / D to E 36.6 / 70.0
* Overall Intersection LOS / Worst Approach LOS
** Overall Intersection Delay / Worst Approach Delay
Source: Biko Associates, Inc.

Forecast Year 2020 Traffic Operations with Caribou Coffee Store in Place

Alliant Engineering prepared a traffic study in April 2018 for the proposed Caribou Coffee Store
that would be located on the southwest corner of the Little Canada Road/Country Drive
intersection.
