MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 17, 2002 <br />HOSPICE Fahey suggested that as part of the City's efforts in providing housing <br />PROGRAM options for senior citizens, that efforts be undertaken to attract a hospice <br />facility to Little Canada. The Council discussed this issue, and consensus <br />was that the City Administrator should discuss the subject with George <br />Sherman, Sherman Associates, to determine if this were feasible as part of <br />his proposed town home development. Anderson suggested that another <br />feasible location may be the City-owned property on Noel Drive. <br />The City Administrator indicated that he would ask Mr. Sherman about <br />the feasibility of this option. <br />REPAINTING The City Administrator reported that he has received numerous negative <br />OP LITTLE comments about the red color used on the brackets on the monument <br />CANADA ROAD bollards on Little Canada Road. Council discussed this issue, and the <br />MONUMENTS consensus was to conduct a survey utilizing the City's Web site to <br />determine the genera] public's feeling about the color and whether or not it <br />should be changed. Council tabled further discussion of this issue until its <br />January 8`~' meeting. <br />ROUND LAKE The Council reviewed the recommendation of the Public Works Director <br />SEDIMENT for Round Lake Sediment removal and storm sewer repair. Cost of this <br />REMOVAL/ work is $17,500 with Ramsey County picking up half of the cost. The <br />STORM SEWER Administrator reported that the Public Works Director will be coming <br />REPAIR back with cost estimates for a new catch basin in this area at a future <br />meeting. <br />Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002-72-309 -APPROVING THE <br />EXPENDITURE OF $8,750 FOR ROUND LAKE ,SEDIMENT <br />REMOVAL. AND ,S"TORM SEWER REPAIR AS RECOMMENDED ]3Y <br />THE PUBLIC WORKb` DIRECTOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Anderson, Scalze, Fahey, Montour. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PLANNING Council reviewed the letters of interest which have been submitted for the <br />COMMISSION four vacancies on the Planning Commission. Anderson noted that for <br />APPOINT- Parks & Recreation Commission vacancies, the chair of the Commission <br />MENTS and the Parks & Recreation Director meet with applicants to discuss the <br /> role of the Commission. Anderson felt that the same process should be <br />]0 <br />
