TO:Mayor Keis and Members of City Council
FROM:Heidi Heller, City Clerk
DATE:December 14, 2018
RE:2019 Planning Commission Appointments
2019 Planning Commission Chair Appointment
STAFF REPORT
The terms of office for Dawn Kulousek and Nick Schwalbach will expire on December 31, 2018.
At this time, there are two 3-year terms to fill.
The City has received letters requesting reappointment from Dawn Kulousek and Nick
Schwalbach. A l etter of interest was also received from Valerie Quarles.
The Planning Commission Interview Committee consisted of Mayor Keis, A s s o c i a t e P l a n n e r
J a g o e , City Administrator Heineman and Planning Commission Chair Buesing. The consensus of
the Interview Committee is that Dawn Kulousek and Nick Schwalbach should be reappointed to 3-
year terms, and the other application should be kept on file in the event of a future Commission
vacancy.
Please also note that the Planning Commission Ordinance calls for the Mayor to make a
recommendation for Planning Commission Chair. Mayor Keis will make that recommendation at
Wednesday’s meeting, with the Council making the actual appointment. The Commission will
select their own Vice Chair at their first meeting in January.
