Steinert volunteered to chair
BUSINESS- again this year. It will be held at Spooner Park Lower Shelter on Thursday, July 31, 2008,
ICE CREAM from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Steinert explained that it is a public relations project for
SOCIAL consideration of children in our area. He said it has included in the past years a puppet
show, a K-9 demonstration, a display of fire trucks, clowns and free ice cream and root
beer. He requested the city again make an Ice Cream Social flyer and bring copies to the
July meeting for the commissioners to distribute to city businesses and also put the flyer
on the website. He also suggested that the Canadian Days Committee include it on their
schedule of events for the weekend. Steinert asked that the recording secretary check on
how the clowns were acquired for last year's event and see if they could be included again
this year. Since Steinert will be unavailable immediately prior to the event, he asked that
another commissioner follow through on making certain everything was in place for the
event. Fleischhacker volunteered to follow-up on the status of all participants prior to the
event date.
MEETING Davis suggested the commission discuss possibly changing the meeting date for the July
Page 1 of 3
