MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL, WORKSHOP <br />DECEMBER 18, 2019 <br />Areas that require additional focus and attention included community relations, <br />intergovernmental relations, and organizational development. <br />Mayor Keis stated that staff is more involved than ever and he appreciates the <br />team approach to resolving issues and how staff members are empowered to do <br />their best work. Councilor Montour added that delegating roles at City Council <br />meetings to each of the Leadership Team members is appreciated. <br />Councilor Fischer stated that Administrator Heineman has done a good job with <br />communication to both the Council and staff. Councilor Torkelson agreed and <br />asked if there were other community stakeholders that we could do more to reach <br />out to. Montour stated that communication is clear and the quarterly financial <br />reports are a positive improvement to infonnation that was previously provided. <br />Mayor Keis stated that Chris is very open and willing to talk about new ideas. <br />He noted that they meet weekly and he is kept well informed. Council member <br />Montour added that the transition to more detailed staff reports with clear and <br />concise information has helped to guide the City Council in decision making. <br />There was Council consensus that Chris Heineman is doing a great job so far and <br />moving in a direction that the Council is satisfied with. <br />There being no further business, the workshop was adjourned at 7:27 p.m. <br />.....fohn .
