MINUTES Parks & Rem•eation Commission February 1, 2001 Danielson was not in favor of decreasing the number of concerts, because by the time word gets around that concerts are being held, they would be over. She felt the more nights concerts were held, the better. She indicated that the Splatter Sisters and the Roseville Area Jazz Band were the most popular last year. She stated that she needs to begin lining up bands before they make other bookings. Danielson felt that the concerts should be started a week later this year. She did not think it was wise to schedule a concert the same week as the 4°' of July. Attendance was really poor that week last year. Danielson recomnzezzded that the Cozzcerts izz the Park series be held ozz Wednesdays, July YI, 18, 25, and August 1 this year, with this year's bands beizzg more farz:ily/cbildrea oriezzted. Motion seconded by Gray. Motion carried 7 - 0. ELECTION OF Schabacker recommended that Sackett Glaser be nominated as this year's chair of the OFFICERS Parks and Recreation Commission. Motion seconded by Gray. Motiozz carried 7 - 0. Brotezz recommended that Schabacker be nominated as this year's vice-chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission. Motion seconded by Larsm:. Motion carried 7 - 0. MINUTES Schabacker recommended that the minutes from the meeting dated December 7, 2000 be approved as submitted. Motion seconded by Danielson:. Motion carried 7 - 0. 694 BRIDGES Sanders staled that MNDOT has plans to reconstruct the bridges on Edgerton and LaBore Roads that cross over 694. They are planning on constructing an 8-foot walkway on one side only on these bridges, unless they receive justification that both sides are needed. Sanders indicated that he favors walkways on both sides due to pedestrian safety and the necessary connection to Vadnais Heights' parks and trails.
