MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreatimr Commission <br />Apri15, 2001 <br />The City Administrator left phone messages for the homeowners on Payne Avenue before he <br />went on vacation, and had not received a response before he left. He will be back from <br />vacation on Monday, April 9, 2001. <br />The Director stated that he has not seen any hail grant applications in the mail yet. He will <br />continue to watch for them and forward them to Sanders when they arrive. <br />CONCERTS This item was tabled until the next meeting due to the absence of Danielson. The Director <br />mentioned that Danielson was married a couple of weeks ago. She could not attend tonight's <br />meeting due to an evening class conflict. <br />PROJECTS Sanders reported on the following items: <br />UPDATE <br />• The Jackson Street park drawing is almost complete. However, a survey is needed. <br />• The Jackson Street connection to the Water Works trail will be bid as an extra with some <br />other projects the City is completing this year. <br />• The Gervais Mill Park entrance work is scheduled to be completed this May. Our Public <br />Works Department will be completing this project. <br />RECREATION The Director reported on the Following items: <br />RF,PORT <br />• The Roseville Review printed an article in their April 3, 2001 issue regarding Gilbertson <br />Field in Little Canada's Spooner Park. A copy of this article was given to Commission <br />Members for their review. <br />• The Mayor and City Council will be holding a Town Meeting on Saturday, Apri121, <br />2001 at 9:00 a.m. This meeting will give residents the opportunity to address the Council <br />on various issues. <br />• The City's annual goalsetting session has been scheduled for Monday, April 16, 2001 at <br />4:30 p.m. Schabacker and Sackett Glaser will attend this meeting to represent the Parks <br />& Recreation Commission. <br />• The Parks & Recreation Department is sponsoring a Minnesota Twins Baseball Bus Trip <br />on Tuesday, April 10, 2001. Program Coordinator Don Bowman is coordinating this <br />event. <br />• The Friends of the Parks and Trails of St. Paul and Ramsey County is advertising for <br />members on Ramsey County's Park Commission. <br />• The LCRA's annual Grand Casino Hinek]y Trip is scheduled on Saturday, April 28, <br />2001. <br />• At one of the upcoming Commission meetings, a picture will be taken of the Commission <br />for the City's web site which is under construction. Steinert commented that he will not <br />be in attendance at the next meeting. The Director stated that we will wait to take the <br />picture witil all members are present. <br />• The City Comzcil has not yet officially adopted the name "Rondeau Park" for the Jackson <br />Street area park. <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />
