MINUTES OP' THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTI,F, CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />May 3, 2001 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 3"~ day of May, 2001 in <br />the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Ginger Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following <br />members of the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Ms. Carla Horwath (formerly Danielson) <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Robert Schabacker <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Director of Parks & Recreation <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES HorwatT: recommended that the minutes from the meeting dated April S, 2001 be approved <br />as submitted. <br />Motima seconded by Larson. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />GOAL- Sackett Glaser and Schabacker attended the goal-setting session, on behalf of the Parks & <br />SETTING Recreation Commission, that was held on April 16, 2001. The session went well and was <br />very informative. Everyone present voiced their top priorities for the City, then the priorities <br />were ranked from 1 to 10. Commission members were mailed a copy of the prioritization <br />results. The parks related items included the following: <br />• Cooperative agreement with St. John's Church for use of their new gymnasium facility. <br />• Public relations advertisement of the parks. <br />• Completion of Rondeau Park. <br />• Acquisition of easements to complete the City's trail system. <br />Sackett Glaser commented that just because some of the items scored low, does not mean <br />that work will not be started on them. <br />LOUR OF Schabacker and Danielson commented that they will not be at the June meeting. After some <br />PARKS discussion, the Commission decided to schedule the first tour of the parks on Monday, June 4 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
