MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />June 7, 2001 <br />Broten commented that the Review will place flyers in their newspapers to be delivered to <br />Little Canada's residents for $300. He felt this would be an effective way of getting the word <br />out. <br />PROJECTS Sanders reported on the following items: <br />UPDATE <br />• The Rondeau Park survey has been received. Requests for bids will be going out soon. <br />Sackett Glaser stated that she has heard coucems voiced from neighbors about the depth <br />of the drainage pond. Sanders stated that he would like to see the water level lowered. <br />However, the engineers may require that much ponding for the area to drain properly. <br />• The Water Works trail connection has been included with this year's street projects. <br />• The Gervais Mill Park Entrance Project on Edgerton Street has been staked and work <br />should begin in a couple of weeks. This will be an overtime project for the city <br />maintenance crews. <br />• The pump house on Little Canada Road will be restored this weekend by a group called <br />Tradesmen. <br />RECREATION Pechman reported on the following items: <br />REPORT <br />• The next youth registrations will take place on July 5 and 12 for the following activities: <br />Soccer League, Soccer Clinic, and Volleyball. <br />• Three youth trips for children ages 8-1 S are scheduled this summer...Minnesota Zoo on <br />June 20, Cascade Bay Water Park on July 18, and Valleyfair on August 15. <br />• The puppet playhouse will be performing in Little Canada's parks again this summer <br />beginning June 13. <br />• The ball programs are underway. <br />ADJOURN Larsor: recommended that the meeting be adjournetL <br />Motiozz seconded by Steinert. <br />Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m. <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />
