MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />September 6, 2001 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 6°i day of September, <br />2001 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in <br />said City. <br />Chair Ginger Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following <br />members of the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Ms. Carla Horwath <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Robert Schabacker <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Schabacker recommended that the minutes from the meeting dated August Z, 2001 be <br />approved as submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Larson. <br />Motion carried 7- 0. <br />TRAIL Sanders stated that the grant application was submitted for the trails. The amount of the <br />SYSTEM grant request is $812,000. The city should hear the results of the application sometime in <br />January. <br />Sanders stated Maplewood sent a letter supporting Little Canada's grant application, relative <br />to the trail connection to Maplewood at Walter Street. Maplewood also funded their <br />connection through their capital improvement program. This information was submitted <br />with the grant application and should help Little Canada receive the grant. Funding for the <br />grant would occur sometime in 2004 or 2005. <br />PROJECTS Sanders reported on the following projects: <br />UPDATE <br />Rondeau Park -Bids for grading and seeding have not been received yet. The soil tests <br />came back and corrections are needed. One foot of compacted material is necessary <br />under the walkways and two feet is needed under the basketball court.
