MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />FEBRUARY 14, 2001 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City Council <br />of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 14th day of February, 2001 in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br /> CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br /> Council Member Ms. Beverly Scalze <br /> Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br /> Council Member Mr. Matt Anderson <br /> Council Member Mr. Rick Montour <br /> ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br /> City Attorney Mr. Patrick Sweeney <br /> Ramsey County Undersheriff George Altendorfer <br /> Ramsey County Undersheriff John Luey <br /> Ramsey County Lt. John Moore <br /> Citizen-At-Large Ms. Mugs Nardini <br /> Deputy Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />RAMSEY The purpose of tonight's workshop meeting is to discuss the direction and <br />COUNTY focus of the Ramsey County Sheriffs Department given the fact that <br />SHERIFF'S Undersheriff George Altendorfer has become responsible for the patrol <br />DEPARTMENT division that services the seven contracting jurisdictions. Altendorfer <br /> introduced himself to the Mayor and City Council and explained the leadership <br /> transition as well as the organizational charts for the Ramsey County Sheriff's <br /> Department. <br />Altendorfer indicated that the Ramsey County Sheriff s Department likes to <br />ensure that the goals the Sheriffs Department has are the goals that the City <br />Council has. He pointed out that a lot of what can be accomplished is tied to <br />the budget process. <br />Altendorfer reported that his top priority for the Sheriff's Department is to <br />expand the investigation unit. He reported on the heavy caseloads that the <br />investigators are carrying and the negative impact that has on both <br />investigators and the resolution of cases. Altendorfer reported that for the <br />short term there is some temporary help in the investigation unit. However, <br />
