MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 14, 2001 <br />STRATEGIC <br />PLANNING/ <br />GOAL <br />SETTING <br />SESSION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Scalze, Anderson, Montour. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The Council discussed scheduling a strategic planning/goal setting <br />session utilizing the same format that was used in 2000. <br />Ms. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION Nn 2001-3-65 - SCHEDULING A STRATEGIC <br />PLANNING/C,OAL SETTING SESSION FOR MONDAY, APRIL, I6, 2001 <br />AT 4:30 P.M. AT THE CITY CENTER AS RECOMMENDED BY THE <br />CITYADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Anderson. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Anderson, Montour, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />SEWER & The City Administrator reviewed his recommendation fora 4% increase in <br />WATER RATES water rates for 2001 and no increase in sewer rates. The Administrator also <br />reviewed a comparison of water rates being charged by surrounding cities and <br />noted that the rate being proposed is very competitive. The Administrator <br />indicated that since 1993 the City's water rates have increased an average of <br />2.5% per year and since 1995 sewer rates have increased an average of 1.25% <br />per year. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-3-66 -APPROVING THE INCREASE IN 2001 <br />WATER RATES AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITYADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Montour, Anderson, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />RYAN DRIVE The Council reviewed the City Administrator's report relative to the <br />RECLAIMING reclaiming of Ryan Drive. It was noted that the street was rehabilitated <br />approximately 8 years ago, and due to the poor soil conditions is in need of <br />additional rehabilitation. The consensus of the Council was that the cost of <br />any improvement of Ryan Drive should be assessed against the properties in <br />Ryan Industrial Park. The Council instructed the City Administrator to <br />conduct a neighborhood meeting to review the proposed improvement and get <br />
