MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 28, 2001 <br />$3q 739.96 AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR <br />AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE APPROPRIATE <br />CONTRACTS BY THE PU737.IC WORKS DIRECTOR ON BEHALF OF <br />THE CITY; <br />*APPROVING PAY ESTIMATE #6 IN THE AMOUNT OF $26, 598.38 <br />SUBMITTED BY PALDA & SONS FOR THE LITTLE CANADA ROAD <br />PROJECT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Montour, LaValle, Fahey, Anderson. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />FIRE RELIEF The City Administrator reviewed the proposed agreement between the City <br />AGREEMENT and the Little Canada Fire Relief Association governing future benefit <br />increases for the association. The Administrator noted that the agreement fixes <br />the City's annual contribution to $15,000 per year that is a reduction from the <br />previous amount of $18,000. The Administrator noted that the Fire Relief <br />Association has recommended approval of the agreement, as does he. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTIONNO. 2001-3-75-APPROVING THE AGREEMENT WITH <br />THE FIRE RELIEF ASSOCIATION AS RECOMMENDED BY THE FIRE <br />RELIEFASSOCIATIONAND THE CITYADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Montour, Anderson, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />CANADIAN The City Administrator reviewed his report dated March 23"~ recommending <br />DAYS - approval of the transfer of title for Canadian Day's trailers the City so that <br />INSURANCE these vehicles can be insured. Given that Canadian Days does not have a <br />ON TRAILERS primary vehicle, they cannot get insurance on the trailers. The other option <br />would be for Canadian Days to purchase a vehicle so that the trailers can be <br />insured. The Administrator reported that Canadian Days will pay the cost of <br />transferring title to the trailers as well as the additional insurance costs. The <br />City Attorney has reviewed the proposal and finds it to be reasonable. <br />Anderson asked about the City's ability to restrict the use of these trailers to <br />Canadian Days once the ownership of the trailers transferred to the City. <br />Council discussed this issue and felt the City Attorney could draft a restrictive <br />
