MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />APRIL 25, 2001 <br />CHAMBER OF Mayor Fahey announced that the Chamber of Commerce will be hosting <br />COMMERCE a luncheon meeting on Thursday, Apri126`h, at the Prom Center in Oakdale. <br />Governor Jesse Ventura will be a speaker at the luncheon. The Chamber <br />should be contacted for further information. <br />RONDEAU Council reviewed the recommendation of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />PARK to name the park along Jackson Street just north of Park View Court as <br />Rondeau Park. Members of the Rondeau Family were present and supported <br />the Parks & Recreation Commission's recommendation. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2001-4-92 -ACCEPTING THE RECOMMENDATION <br />OF THE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION AND NAMING <br />THE PARK ALONG JACKSON STREET NORTH OF PARK VIEW <br />COURT AS RONDEAUPARK <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) LaValle, Scalze, Montour, Anderson, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The Rondeau Family thanked the Council for their action. <br />TEMPORARY Council reviewed the request of Gopher State Exposition to hold a carnival <br />CARNIVAL at the Market Place Shopping Center from May 30`" through June 3`a. <br />AT MARKET <br />PLACE Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />SHOPPING <br />CENTER RESOLUTION NO. 2001-4-93 -APPROVING THE GOPHER STATE <br />EXPOSITION REQUEST TO HOLD A CARNIVAL AT THE MARKET <br />PLACE SHOPPING CENTER FROM MAY 30TH THROUGH JUNE 3RD, <br />2001 AS REQUESTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Fahey, LaValle, Montour, Anderson. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />HEALTH The Council reviewed the City Administrator's recommendation relative <br />INSURANCE to an increase in the City's contribution toward employee health insurance <br />CAP to $409 per month for family coverage. Fahey suggested that at in considering <br />this matter at budget time, information be provided on the percentage that other <br />cities are contributing toward employee health insurance. <br />
