MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 27, 2001 <br />The Administrator further reported that Oppidan is interested in developing the <br />Rice Street/Little Canada Road area and are proposing a 33,000 square foot <br />offce/retail building. The Administrator indicated that he hopes to have a <br />Development Agreement worked out with Oppidan by August ]s', and they are <br />currently working on lease commitments. Oppidan would like a commitment <br />from the City stating that they are the preferred developer for the Rice <br />Street/Little Canada Road redevelopment project. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOI. UT ION N0. 2001-6-131-DECLARING THA'I' OPII)AN IS THE <br />CITY .S PREFERRED DEVELOPER FOR THE RICE STREET/1ITTLE <br />CANADA ROAD AREA AND STIPU] AlING THAT THE CITYIS <br />SEEKING A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WIT H OPPIDAN NO <br />LATER THAN AUGUST T, 2001 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Scalze, Montour, Anderson. <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Fahey thanked Ehlers & Associates as well as City staff for their efforts with <br />putting together a bond sale in a very short amount of time. <br />AMENDMENT The City Administrator recommended that the Cowrcil table action on the <br />TO BIAGINI amendment to the Biagini Development Agreement. FIe and Mr. Biagini <br />DEVELOPMENT have not resolved all of the issues relative to this amendment. Mr. Biagini <br />AGREEMENT indicated that he would likely begin construction on the second Country Drive <br />building before the end of July. If necessary, the Administrator reported that a <br />special meeting could be called to act on the amendment. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RE.SOI,UTION N0. 2021-6-132 - TA13] INCi ACTION ON THE <br />AMENDMENT TO THE ]37AGIN7 DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT AS <br />RECOMMENDED 13Y THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Montour, Anderson, LaValle. <br />Nays (0).
