MINUTES CITY COUNCIIl JULY 25, 200,1 CUP - Fahey opened the Public Hearing to consider the application for Conditional 2935 EDGLRTON Use Permit allowing construction of a 22 foot by 34 foot accessory garage STREl';T - bringing total garage space to just under 1,500 square feet at 2935 Edgerton PE.RKOLA Street as requested by Brett Per]<ola. The Planning Commission and the City Planner have recommended approval of the CUP. Fahey noted that the City is in receipt of letters from two property owners in opposition to the CUP. There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on this matter. Upon motion by Fahey, seconded by Scalze, the public hearing was closed. Montour reported that he visited the property and noted that the home is a new one. Montour stated that his concern was whether or not the construction materials used on the garage would match the house. Montour also asked about the access of construction equipment to build the new garage. Perkola reported that the materials used for the new garage would match the house, including siding, windows, doors, roofing materials. Perkola reported that he had no problem with the requirement that access to the new garage be through the existing garage. He also reported that materials for the new garage will be dropped in the front oi'the property and hand carried to the back yard. I-3e further reported that any fill that is needed would be moved by a bobcat and that caicrete would be pumped from the road. Montour repotted that the lots in this area are deep. There are many gardens in these large back yards and not many garages of this type. However, he saw no reason to deny the CUP request. Scalze pointed out the recommendation of the Planning Commission that there be no outdoor storage on the basketball court. Perkola reported that the covet would not be used for storage, but lather by his sous for recreation purposes.
