MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 23, 2001 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City Council <br />of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 23rd day of May, 2001 in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at C:45 p. m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br />Council Member Ms. Beverly Scalze <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Matt Anderson <br />Council Member Mr. Riclc Montour <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Public Works Dir. Mr. Greg Schroeder <br />Parks & Itec. Dir. Mr. Jim Moretan <br />Deputy Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />PUBLIC The Public Works Director explained in detail a flowchart he drafted showing <br />WORKS the baseline modifications needed at the Public Works Garage including some <br />GARAGE additional improvement items such as a new roof insulation, and addition to <br />the existing building. <br />Fahey asked the status of discussions for the purchase of the County Road B <br />property identified as a potential site for a new Public Works Garage. The City <br />Administrator reported that the property owner has indicated an asking price of <br />$225,000 and noted that the property has been listed with a realtor. The <br />Administrator reported that he informed the property owner about the potential <br />for the City to issue a 1033 letter. The property owner indicated that he would <br />check into the potential for reducing the asking price for the property in <br />exchange for the 1033 letter. <br />Fahey indicated that he is in favor of acquiring the property at this time, but <br />not immediately moving forward with construction of a new Public Works <br />facility- Fahey also indicated that the decision for the Council this evening is <br />what improvements should be made to the existing Public Works facility as a <br />short-teen solution. <br />
