MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
May 23, 2001
Scalze questioned the need for replacement of the existing roof with a standing
seam metal roof pointing out that it was not practical to put a 40-year life room
on a building that may only have 20 years of remaining life. The Council
agreed that a less expensive roof would be more feasible.
The Council discussed fre protection improvements listed in the Public Works
Director's report, and it was the consensus of the Council that these
improvements should be made from a fire safety standpoint.
Council then discussed electrical improvements, and the Public Works
Director noted that he is currently changing electrical outlets to GFI and
recommended that this was an adequate solution for the short-term. Council
agreed.
Fahey pointed out that the immediate improvements to the Public Works
garage that the Council agreed to this evening total $25,000, plus applicable
architect/engineer fees. These improvements should be made in 2001 acid
paid from the Water & Sewer Capital Reserve account. These will be acted
upon formally at the regular Council meeting this evening. I-urther
programming of work will be done with the Capital Improvement Program as
past of the budgeting process.
There being no further business, the workshop was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
~(!.~::
Mic}~ Fahey, Mayor
Attes : _.~ ~ y
Joel..
